In scientific studies, this is sometimes called the observer effect, or the Placebo Effect. And that opens up doors. Learning how to use the power of your mind can change your life, by giving you focus, by making a lot of your goals attainable. It's better to keep your mind open to opportunities, to let the Law of Attraction work for you, than to let negative impressions derail your life.

Start with a goal. Visualize it clearly in your mind. Make it a goal with boundaries; for example, if you're thinking about money, don't think of the goal in the context of 'A lot of money'. Put a dollar figure on it. Make it a real goal, with precision. Once the goal is set, focus your mental actions on achieving that goal. Keep the effort constant; don't do it in bursts and lags.

Some people are aware of the power of their mind; they focus on tasks, they set goals, they make lists, and they follow through them. You can see them; they're the ones who always seem to have a plan and who always focus on what's around them. Everything they do is aimed at furthering that goal, and with their mind and will ruling their passions, they have a palpable air of success. This success isn't difficult to emulate; it's very simple. It just requires clarity of purpose and focus.

It is a fantastic meditation technique to have in your bag of stress-busters and can be done any time - even if you only have five minutes to spare. When you do a walking meditation, go alone. Do not try to combine walking your dog and walking meditation.

Start walking at a comfortable pace. Be aware of the sensations of your body. Feel your feet hitting the road and the wind blowing. Notice the temperature on your skin. Notice your breathing coming in and going out. Focus on that particular moment in time. If your mind wanders, just let the thought slip through your mind without giving it attention.

In a walking meditation, you may want to include a mantra, a phrase or meditative prayer. You can focus on this in your head. It does not need to be said aloud. Some people prefer to play some calm music or nature sounds, such as the sound of the ocean, as they walk. Music without lyrics works best. When you finish your walking meditation, you will feel relaxed, centered and rested.

It is what opens the mind to receive the clairvoyant gift. Initially, you may need to work to achieve a trancelike state of meditation that gets you to the place where you can receive any messages. Later on, you will be able to enter this state more quickly. Perhaps at some point the material world will cease to exist momentarily as clairvoyant visions come unannounced.

A clairvoyant free from distractions and the "politics" of life will be able to perform much more efficiently. It is important to have complete harmony around you. If there is anything that you feel is disharmonious, you need to cleanse yourself of it. If it is an object, get rid of it. If it is a person, avoid them. So if you want to become a lucid dreamer how do you do it? There are actually two ways. The first way is having a dream-initiated lucid dream (DILD), which is where the dreamer is in a dream and then realizes that they are, restoring their sense of consciousness within the dream.

By remembering your dreams, you are able to recognize them when you are sleeping, because most likely, you will have the same dream, or at least aspects of it, more than once.

One way to practice dream recall is by keeping a dream journal. This is a tool in which you write down anything you can remember about a given dream, so you can easily recall it in the future. Do this right after you wake up, since dreams become harder to remember over time.

Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams (MILD)

This is a technique that was developed by Dr. Stephen LaBerge, one of the lead scientists studying lucid dreaming. The intent here is to simply tell yourself that you will remember something, like an object for example and then in the dream, when you see this object you will realize it is a dream.

Wake-Back-to-Bed (WBTB)

To use this method, first go to sleep. Set an alarm beforehand to wake you up a few hours later (about five or six). Once you wake up, don't go back to sleep. Read for a little while, or think about lucid dreaming for a while, then head back to sleep.

According to Stephen LaBerge, there is a 60% success rate of this technique. The reason why is that you would have woken up during the process of sleep, meaning that your mind is not fully aware of this, and are still in the middle of REM cycle. So basically, it's like going to your mind and telling it that you want to lucid dream.

Cycle Adjustment Technique

This was created by Daniel Love, and what it is, is setting your alarm to wake you up an hour and a half before your normal time. Once you've adjusted to waking up early, alternate your alarm to wake you up normally and early. During times you are to wake up normally, you're body will already be ready to wake up early, and therefore, you will be likely to be awake in your dream.

Wake-initiation of Lucid Dreams (WILD)

This method was described before. If you would like to achieve a lucid dream this way, all you have to do is to keep your mind awake while you body falls asleep. This is perhaps the most interesting way of entering a lucid dream. It is as if you are getting ready to watch a movie. You are in the real world, you sit on your couch, you turn on the TV and press play (starting to sleep), the screen is black (in the same way as when your eyes are closed), and all you have to do is wait for the movie to actually start.

A number of ways to stay aware are counting, imagine climbing or descending stairs, chant, control your breathing, count your breaths, and concentrate on relaxing the body from their toes to head. (This all falls under the term 'self hypnosis'.) It is best to do this when you are not tired, like in the afternoon.
