Living A Good Life Without The Need To Be Rich

By Deegan Love

Introduction: A lot of people associate the good life with money, and that is the main reason why plenty aren't happy at where they are right now. The good life is not dictated by what you have or what you don't have, but by how you live your life regardless of your financial and social status.

Difficulty: 5

Things You'll Need: writing materials, sports or hobby equipment, self opinionated, mirror, looking life at a perspective

Step 1: Make a list of all the things that you are grateful for. Using your writing materials, write down all the other good things that you are happy or grateful about. No matter how harsh life may be, surely there are still a lot of good stuff happening around.

Step 2. When you feel any painful emotions coming up (anger, hatred, sadness and the like), channel your thoughts on the things you have written on the list. Think about or read the list every morning and night as well.

Step 3: Free yourself from financial obligations. This means that you have to pay off everything that you owe to keep you from constantly worrying about your debts. Using your credit card to shop or making another loan is never a solution. Instead you have to ensure that everything else is paid off but mortgage.

Step 4. Take your note pad out again and start listing your goals in life. List what you want to achieve on a short term basis, and list down your long term goals as well. Remember though, that your goals have to be attainable and realistic. Here are some examples:

- Making someone smile each day

- Think of something that interests you to make you busy

- Reading a book a week

Step 5. Tell yourself that you are beautiful. No, you aren't being narcissistic. Just look at the mirror and tell yourself that you are beautiful. Remember that when you feel good, you start to look good.

Step 6. Stop wanting too many things. We sometimes become sad because we want all too many things at once. Take your financial status into consideration and look at it realistically. Figure out what you can afford and start from there. Splurge once in awhile as long as it is within your budget, and if you want something that's not, then try to save.

Step 7. Are you close to your family, siblings or friends? Take note of your relationship with them. Are the relationships the kind you would want to share with them? If not, try working things out by bridging gaps and fostering healthy relationships with them.

Step 8: Make busy with a new sport. If there's something that interests you and you think is fun to do, then for a change try it!

Step 9. Keep Your Body and Mind Healthy. Practice control in what and how you eat and in your lifestyle as well. A fit body helps you enjoy life better on a day to day basis.

Step 10: Be Optimistic! Being confident about whatever things it may be is just the best way to deal with it.

Tips:

- Think realistically and become accustomed to what you have in life.

- Work hard for the things that you can't. Not everything is free in life.

- Smile, laugh and enjoy life.

Warnings:

- Make it a point to laugh on a constant basis. Of course, make sure there's an occassion to laugh, and that you're not doing so just randomly.

- Look at life in a realistically manner in order to prevent heartaches and letdowns in the future. - 31877
