Caring For Hemorrhoids

By Richard Hill

Do you or someone you know suffer from hemorrhoids? This condition is very painful, and often difficult to deal with. Whether they are itchy, annoying or real painful, they are the result of inflammation of the veins in the rectum. If you suffer from hemorrhoids, there are a few different ways to treat this condition.

The first concern you may have is to sooth the hemorrhoids that are present. External hemorrhoids are the most painful ones, and can be worsened by tight clothing, or activity. When you are seeking relief, consider taking a sitz bath. A sitz bath also known as a hip bath is just a shallow pan of warm water. This is to cleanse and soothe the area. Warm water may be the only thing that you need, but other times people will add a little bit of white vinegar to help heal them faster.

You can do this Sitz baths up to three times a day if you feel the need to do so. The procedure does not have to last longer; just make use of the warm water while it is warm. Drying the area should be done gently to avoid further scrubbing which might worsen the irritation and inflammation.

Also remember that when you are trying to sooth hemorrhoids that you should look into wearing light loose clothing. Ideally skirts that are light in fabric with all cotton undergarments are ideal. This will allow the area to heal quickly and cleanly and this will also likely be the most comfortable option for you. Wearing khakis instead of jeans can also go a long way towards bringing you a great deal of relief.

It's never to late to change your diet. Changing your diet will help to reduce the chance of hemorrhoids reoccurring as often. Start by adding grains and fiber to your diet. This will help your body digest your food better, and put less strain on your body during bowel movements. Everyone reacts differently to food, and you may need to analyze what you've been eating. This will help insure that you don't have to deal with hemorrhoids again in the near future.

Since hemorrhoids are a common condition there are many ways that you can treat them. Decide which one will work best for you, and remember to try and keep them under control and reduce the occurrences through your diet. - 31877
